What is the main difference between the limited and omniscient third-person narrative point of view?
A.
An omniscient point of view provides readers with knowledge about all characters, as well as past and future events.
B.
A limited point of view is told only from the point of view of a minor character of the story, including past and future events.
C.
An omniscient point of view allows the reader access to only the thoughts of the main character of the story.
D.
A limited point of view allows the reader access to the thoughts of only the main characters of the story.

Answers

Answer:

A

Explanation:

An omniscient third-person narrative point of view is defined as a perspective where the narrator has knowledge of all characters and all their perspectives. A simple way to think about the omniscient point of view is that it is the perspective of God, or an all-knowing being. In comparison, the limited point of view is one that follows a main character in the story, but the point of view only encapsulates the thoughts and feelings of that one, specific character--not anyone else.

Answers

Answer:

C. To list the main topics and show the order they will appear in

Explanation:

Outlines show key words, however, they are for main topics and ideas you will write about and structure your essay in a way that makes the most sense. It is not B because an outline's purpose is not memorization; it is to plan your essay/paper. The number of sentences in each paragraph isn't typically known before writing, and outlines are done before the rough draft. C is the best answer.

Where I come from.

I need quality analysis of this poem. I'll give brainliest.

Answers

Explanation:

In this poem, Robles depicts where "she comes from." She uses the repetition of a certain line: "I come from a long line," to bring together the different parts of her poem. A repetition of a line or group of lines throughout a poem is known as a refrain. Robles starts by saying,

"I come from a long line of

Confusion,

A long line of

Patience

And understanding myself."

These lines represent the component of Robles' origin where she is understanding herself and who she is. The confusion, is her being unsure of who she wants to be. The patience and understanding, is her taking time to grasp her ideals and beliefs, and understanding who she wants to be.

The next part of the poem:

When there is no one who understands.

I come from

A long line

That never ends

But bends

To the right

And then to the left.

This portion discusses her struggle with others being inconsiderate and non-accepting with who she is. When no one understands, she has to take paths to avoid these resentful individuals while still searching to fully uncover her true identity.

The last part of the poem:

I come from a long line of

Liars

And fakers,

A line of cutters

Who step in front of me

In line

This section describes the people who pretend to be understanding, friendly, and kind. The "Liars," and "fakers," are those who put on an act of amiability in order to benefit from or gain the trust of the author. The line cutters, refer to to individuals in Robles' life, who take advantage of her to get ahead. That's why she describes them as "A line of cutters, Who step in forn of me, In line." Then, Robles ends the poem with the same refrain, just altered to fit into context.

In a long line

Where I come from.

Answer: This honey plant makes people do things they don't want to do, makes them lose sight of their core goal, and makes them forget about their family and friends. They get addicted to it, and nothing else seems to matter.

Explanation:

The phrases come from Book IX of Homer's "The Odyssey," where Odysseus sends several men to inspect the country. However, these men stayed since they had consumed the Lotus plant and did not want to go.

Paraphrase of the passage-

If somebody consumed the flower, they would forget everything and refuse to leave the place. It causes individuals to lose sight of their loved ones, their homes, and their goals. It also forced them to do things they disliked. It's as if they're hooked to narcotics or have become slaves to unhealthy habits. Unfortunately for them, they are unable to entirely go. Taking them forces them to do things they don't want to do but over which they have no control.

Parallelism is important to final outlines.

True or False?

Answers

Answer:

True

Explanation:

Parallelism

Whenever possible, in writing an outline, coordinate heads should be expressed in parallel form. That is, nouns should be made parallel with nouns, verb forms with verb forms, adjectives with adjectives, and so on. Although parallel structure is desired, logical and clear writing should not be sacrificed simply to maintain parallelism (For example, there are times when nouns and gerunds used at the same level of an outline are acceptable.) Reasonableness and flexibility of form is preferred to rigidity.

OUT through the fields and the woods

And over the walls I have wended;

I have climbed the hills of view

And looked at the world, and descended;

I have come by the highway home,

And lo, it is ended.

The leaves are all dead on the ground,

Save those that the oak is keeping

To ravel them one by one

And let them go scraping and creeping

Out over the crusted snow,

When others are sleeping.

And the dead leaves lie huddled and still,

No longer blown hither and thither;

The last lone aster is gone;

The flowers of the witch-hazel wither;

The heart is still aching to seek,

But the feet question 'Whither?'

Ah, when to the heart of man

Was it ever less than a treason

To go with the drift of things,

To yield with a grace to reason,

And bow and accept and accept the end

Of a love or a season?

U.S. pharmacologist (one who studies drug interactions) Gertrude B. Elion received the Nobel prize for medicine in 1988 along with George H. Hitchings and Sir James W. Black. The three were awarded the prize for their development of drugs used to treat several major diseases.

Gertrude Belle Elion was born on Jan. 23, 1918, in New York City. She graduated from Hunter College in New York City with a degree in biochemistry in 1937. Unable to obtain a graduate research position because she was a woman, she took a series of jobs, including lab assistant, chemistry and physics teacher in New York City high schools, and research chemist. During this time she also took classes at New York University, where she earned a master's degree in 1941. Because she could not devote herself to full-time studies, Elion never received a doctorate.

In 1944 Elion joined the Burroughs Wellcome Laboratories (now part of GlaxoSmithKline (a company that makes prescription medicines)). There she was first the assistant and then the colleague of Hitchings, with whom she worked for the next four decades. Elion and Hitchings developed an array (variety) of new drugs that were effective against leukemia, autoimmune disorders, urinary-tract infections, gout, malaria, and viral herpes. Their success was due primarily to their innovative (characterized by new or unique) research methods. Rather than using the trial-and-error approach used by previous pharmacologists, Elion and Hitchings examined the difference between the biochemistry of normal human cells and that of cancer cells, bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens (disease-causing agents). They used this information to create drugs that could target a particular pathogen without harming the human host's normal cells. Their methods enabled them to eliminate much of the guesswork and wasted effort typical in previous drug research.

Although Elion officially retired in 1983, she helped oversee the development of azidothymidine (AZT), the first drug used in the treatment of AIDS. In 1991 she was awarded a National Medal of Science and was inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame. She died on Feb. 21, 1999, in Chapel Hill, N.C.
