What are you most proud of this quarter?
What are your strengths?
What areas do you need to work to improve?
What do you enjoy most about class?
What do like the least?
What do you do outside of school?
What are you most looking forward to next quarter?
What are you most looking forward to next year?
What was the easiest subject? Most difficult?
What assignment/project did you enjoy the most?
What were you most excited to learn?
Toughest part of being online? Convenient?
Favorite Spirit Day
What was the most memorable moment from the 3rd quarter?

We will add to list after our meet this morning. Your essay should be 6th/7th grade quality, and it should be well developed with support. Meaning for each question you address in the essay, an explanation (support) should be provided.

Answers

I would like to begin at what I am most proud of as of third quarter. One thing I am most proud of is being able to turn in work and attend my classes. A important strength I have within myself is probably how determined I am or maybe that I like to try new things which can bring strength. Something that I probably need to work on the most is my attitude towards certain things. For example my homework, it’s something most students hate but it’s something that makes up most my grade so if I want to have a good grade I just do it. Sometimes it’s hard for me to focus though. Something I enjoy most throughout my class is probably that I get to talk to my peers or learning something new. Although something I like least is when I get called on and don’t know the answer. It’s something I don’t enjoy because I often don’t feel smart afterwards. I like to watch Netflix after school I know that’s not a hobby but it’s something I enjoy. Next quarter I’m looking forward to just learning some new things. As of next year I hope I get some interesting classes that can help me focus on what I want to go after college. Since everything you do now kind of leads up to what you do in the future. Probably the easier subject for me is well..not quite sure but probably math or science. One of those two definitely. Most difficult is probably math it can be both easy and hard at times. (Make sure to edit this out but I’m not sure what projects you had so make sure you do that yourself) I think I was most excited to learn more about science in general since there is a lot of fascinating things you can learn about. One of the toughest things about being online is probably not being able to talk to each other like how it would be if it was face to face. It was convenient because I can eat whenever I want and didn’t have to worry about how I dressed. (You fill out fav spirit day and memorable moment but delete this) As you read the end of this essay, I just wanna say thank you for being one of the many teachers who have been incredible during this pandemic. Talk to you soon!

When describing his feelings about his youth, why does Myers use the word "despair " instead of "sorrow "?

A:"Despair " suggests that Myers lost all of his hope.

B:"Despair " suggests that Myers felt some worry.

C:"Despair" suggests that Myers was a bit sad.

Answers

The right answer to the question is option A, "Despair " suggests that Myers lost all of his hope.

Why does Myers use the word "despair" instead of "sorrow "?

Myers uses the word "despair" to describe his feelings about his youth because it conveys a more profound sense of hopelessness and desperation than the word "sorrow." Despair implies a feeling of complete loss of hope and an overwhelming sense of helplessness in the face of one's circumstances. By contrast, sorrow refers to a feeling of sadness or regret that arises from a specific loss or disappointment. In the context of Myers' statement, it is clear that his sense of despair arises from his realization that college was not a possibility for him due to his family's financial circumstances. This realization represented a major setback for Myers, who had excelled academically and enjoyed learning. His use of the word "despair" suggests that he felt a deep sense of hopelessness and powerlessness in the face of this obstacle, which could not be overcome through hard work or perseverance alone.
