Answer 1

Answer: The difference and similarities is based around the relative nature of the themes.

Themes in an artwork are like mind maps.

They exist in many places in the work and throughout it they are adding more facets to the general themes.

These themes also exist prior to the work and the work is also adding on to the treatment of the themes too.

Some themes are more common and rather to use the word, universal. They concern more people and have been thought about often. These are the similar themes.

Some themes are remarkably new or that come out of the creativity of the author. Often they can be turned in with the universal themes too however.

All right yall so I want you to right a second paragraph for this story ..........................................Me and my dad michael went out to a lake once to go fishing and he caught some fish, but i wasn't able to catch anything so he told me that i needed to set the hook before i reel back in, He said "when you feel some small tugs and you are sure they are still there then you have to jolt your fishing rod backwards to get the hook stuck inside of the fish's mouth" so I did that and i had caught my very first fish. But there was something I didn’t know and that was that the area me and my dad were fishing in had a mega fish.

Answers

Answer:

I am not going to write the paragraph for you because that would be cheating. The most I could do Is give you advice.

Explanation:

For your second paragraph, I would dedicate that whole paragraph to the "mega fish." I would capItalize that too (Megafish). Describe its outside its scales its teeth. But wait, a "Megafish" is a real thing. If you are talking about a mythical creature then you have to change the name. If not continue. Talk about rumors that you heard from other people or the old man in the rocking chair by the lake who said something real creepy to you both hinting about the "Megafish" but overlooked what you heard. Something like that. Stories need very described things. The reader needs to make the image in their head and it's hard to do that when there is no description.

A Flag with 50 Stars

The first American flag to have red and white stripes and white stars on a blue field was flown in 1776, shortly after the United States declared its independence from Great Britain. Legend has it that a Philadelphia seamstress named Betsy Ross was hired by George Washington himself to create this flag. There is no evidence that this legend is true, and no one knows for certain who made the first flag, which had 13 stars and 13 stripes. However, we know for a fact that the first flag to have 50 stars—the one we have today—was designed by a high school student.

In 1958, Bob Heft was a 17-year-old student at Lancaster High School in Ohio. At that time, the United States had only 48 states but was on the verge of accepting two more: Alaska and Hawaii. The U.S. flag at the time had six neat rows of eight stars each. What would be the best way to add two more stars while keeping the arrangement neat and orderly? This was the question that Bob’s history teacher posed to the class.

The teacher gave the students an assignment: design a flag with 50 stars. Bob spent hours in the attic of his house, cutting up a 48-star flag and rearranging the stars until they fit just right. He was pleased with his solution to the problem, but his teacher found it less than perfect and gave him a B minus. Outraged, Bob told his teacher that he was going to send his design to his member of Congress, Walter Moeller. His teacher replied that if Bob’s design was accepted as the new flag, he would be more than happy to change his grade to an A.

A year later, Bob had graduated and was working as a draftsman when he received a call at work. He never would have imagined a call from President Eisenhower—but that's who it was! Now that Alaska and Hawaii had been admitted as states, Congressman Moeller had succeeded in having Bob's design chosen as the new U.S. flag. Bob Heft was invited to Washington, D.C., for a ceremony during which his design was officially adopted as the new flag of the United States.

Question 1
Part A

What inference can be made about the time period of the text?

People were more patriotic than they are today.

It was a time of uncertainty and worry.

People were more traditional than they are today.

It was a time when the nation was changing.

Question 2
Part B

Which evidence from the text best supports the answer in Part A?

“Bob Heft was invited to Washington, D.C., for a ceremony during which his design was officially adopted as the new flag of the United States.”

“At that same time, the United States had only 48 states but was on the verge of accepting two more: Alaska and Hawaii.”

“However, we know for a fact that the first flag to have 50 stars—the one we have today—was designed by a high school student.”

“Outraged, Bob told his teacher that he was planning on sending his design to his member of Congress, Walter Moeller.”

You may be great at doing acts of kindness or service for others, but not very good at talking or writing. So let your actions speak louder than your words.

Do you think an individual or a group of individuals can actually maintain a certain quality of language and usage? If your answer is yes, state how these rules can be applied effectively. If your answer is no, then state the reasons why such control should not be exercised. Write a short essay to state your position on these questions.

Answers

..................:::

In my personal opinion, a group of individuals can actually maintain a certain quality of language and usage. My thought behind this is if the group is willing to put in effort and backs up that effort through continous practice, then technically you could maintain the quailty. As long as they continuously use a particular level of vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation. The only way that would make it fall apart is if it isn't taken care of, the group members decide to give up on trying. My opinion on what constitutes good and bad is the usage of slang words such as typing "u" instead of "you" and so on. I think it would be necessary for speakers and writers to follow a particular standard of correctness so we can all understand eachother. I think that with the situation it could fluctuate as well as the audience but I'd even think the audience should follow a standard.
