Answer 1
My family and I went on a vacation out of town for spring break. We were staying in a cabin near the forest. After we unpacked our belongings my sister, Ella, and I decided to go outside and explore the backyard. We found all sorts of bugs underneath rocks. Then a boy came up to us and asked if he could play with us. We said yes and then we played hide and seek. The boys name was Derrick. Ella was the seeker. Derrick decided to hide behind a tree. I was looking for a spot. “5, 4, 3, 2, 1 ready or not here I come” said Ella. I rushed into a little cave. Ella found Derrick shortly after. Then there was an earthquake, the parents yelled at us to come inside. I tried to get out of the cave but tripped then rocks came falling down. The exit was blocked, I was trapped. I suddenly started to panic. I screamed for help but no one could hear me. I was terrified. The earthquake stopped an hour and a half later. Everyone was yelling my name looking for me, I could hear my mom crying. I could hear the panic in their voice. I tried to tell but I couldn’t get a word out. They called the police department and fire department. I could hear the sirens. I tried to get a scream out so that someone could at least hear me. I heard Ella come close to the cave and I decided to bang rocks together and make a noise. Luckily she heard it and told my mom. The fire department successfully moved the rocks from the entrance and the police blocked it off after I was out. The firemen took me to their truck and made sure I was okay and told me I had to drink a lot of water because I was dehydrated and I should warm up. We had a movie night and popcorn with Derrick and his family.

In the poem "Barbara Frietchie,” what is true about each rhyming couplets?

Answers

Answer: it's true that each rhyming couplets complete a thought. In general terms the entire poem is complete thoughts

Explanation:

Pan’s character in Elizabeth Barrett Browning’s poem A Musical Instrument has a much correlation with that of the Greek god Pan. Their physical appearance nature and characteristic were very similar, and they even had a great love for music too. This mythological figure got its revival further in 1880 where he continued to be the god of forest nature and woods. He is depicted as the symbol of energy sometimes frightening and possessing a great force of entertaining nature.

Since Pan ruled over the shepherd’s hunters and rural areas his worship is basically focused on nature and its species. He was associated with the deities of the forest and he dwelled with them in the woods. Because of his inclination and association with forest and nature, his structure was that of a man and an animal in combination. He is associated with nature pasturelands and wooded areas from which his name is derived.

The poem starts with the focus on the destruction which the god of the forest Pan has been spreading across. Being the deity of the forest himself he creates a form of turbulence all around the river and the forest. The significance of the river is seen in the poem too which reflects the ups and downs. The poem focuses on the subject that though there are beauty and love all around still there lies pain and destruction in the situation.

Though the character Pan possessed a love for nature and animals still sometimes become a source of destruction when it ran into a panic. Irrespective of being a God, a human we all possess the power to create beauty and destroy both

NICKI MINAJ IS THE QUEEN OF RAP

Explanation:

Maria had been raised in the flat farmland of Indiana. Her new job in New York City was great, but there were lots of things she had to get used to. The first thing she had to deal with was noise. The sound of traffic never ceased. Sirens wailed suddenly at all hours. Garbage trucks backed into the alley beneath her apartment and made a terrible noise. They always seemed to arrive at 5:00 in the morning. The second thing she had to deal with was getting to work. The crush of the crowded sidewalks made her feel as if she was being swept by a tide of people. Everyone seemed to know where they were going and they walked fast. Maria felt that she had to walk fast too, just to keep from getting lost in the crowd. Soon after beginning her new job in downtown Manhattan, Maria had to deal with a third thing. Walking on concrete and standing on the subway were hard on her feet. Soon, she learned to imitate her fellow workers. She came to work in sneakers, carrying her dress shoes in her tote bag.

Once you’ve read this paragraph, look over the following ideas to see which one best describes its topic.

a. Maria was raised in Indiana.

b. Maria had to get used to living in New York City.

c. New York is noisy and crowded.

d. Maria soon learned to imitate her fellow workers.

My first time on horseback was embarrassing. I had never been on a horse in my life, but I was afraid to admit it. That’s probably where my trouble started. When I lifted my foot to put it into the stirrup, my friend Sally laughed. “Use the other foot, silly,” she said. Blushing beet red, I laughed too. I used the other foot. Then it took me about 10 minutes to swing up into the saddle. The horse kept moving and I scampered along on one foot while Sally giggled. Finally mounted, I looked down. I felt as if I were sitting on a mountain! Fortunately, Sally had chosen a gentle mare for me. I realize now she wasn’t fooled. She knew I didn’t know the first thing about riding. She really is a good friend. After a while, I learned to relax a little. I was actually riding a horse and it was fun. I even learned how to use the reins to guide the horse to the left and to the right.

I choosed Margaret Mead, she was born on December 16,1901 in Philadelphia. She died in November 17, 1978 in a hospital in New York.

She was an American cultural anthropologist and write, she loved to study nonliterate peoples of Oceania. She also commented on a wide array of societal issues, such as women's rights, nuclear proliferation, race relations, environmental pollution, and world hunger. In her first study, Coming of Age in Samoa (1928), she observed that Samoan children moved with relative ease into the adult world of sexuality and work, in contrast to children in the United States, where lingering Victorian restraints on sexual behavior and the increasing separation of children from the productive world made youth a needlessly difficult time.
One of her famous theory’s was the theory of imprinting found that children learn by watching adult behavior.A decade later, Mead qualified her nature vs. nurture stance somewhat in Male and Female (1949), in which she analyzed the ways in which motherhood serves to reinforce male and female roles in all societies. She continued nevertheless to emphasize the possibility and wisdom of resisting traditional gender stereotypes.

When funding for her field research in the South Pacific was cut during World War II, she founded the Institute for Intercultural Studies in 1944.

i think her theories helped a lot to our society like her theory of kids are influence by their parents behaviors, because I think back then they would think oh why does my child cuss so much or is so aggressive but it was becaause they would see that behavior at home.

Gregory Bateson was born on May 9, 1904 in Grantchester, United Kingdom

He died July 4, 1980 in San Francisco

Bateson focused on Ecological anthropology and cybernetics, he also was in these fields social scientist , linguistics , cybernetics and systems theory

Bateson was one of the most important and least understood thinkers, he originated the double blind theory of schizophrenia, was the first to apply cybernetic theory to the social sciences and he made discoveries about a nonhuman species as the dolphin

Bateson interested me because he did many different things. He was in many different fields, he as one of the most understood thinkers in his time, he not only studied so many things but he also wrote books about his studies. Like the book " steps to an ecology of mind" it has essays about anthropology , cybernetics , psychiatry, and epistemology. Overall he was a busy man and he took his studies and his work every serious , it was important to him and that's why I took an interest in him .

Margaret Mead Biography

American anthropologist

The American anthropologist (a scientist who studies human beings and their origins, distribution, and relationships) Margaret Mead developed the field of culture and personality research and was a leading influence in introducing the concept of culture into education, medicine, and public policy.

Explanation:

Academic life

The Columbia department at this time consisted of Boas, who taught everything, and Ruth Benedict (1887–1948), his only assistant. The catastrophe of World War I (1914–18; a war between the Central Powers—led by Germany—and the Allies: England, the United States, Italy, and other nations) and the displacement of people that followed had its impact on the developing study of anthropology. Anthropologists began to ask how their knowledge of the nature of humankind might be used to clarify current problems. At the same time, the influence of Sigmund Freud (1856–1939) was beginning to affect all of the behavioral (human action) sciences. The atmosphere in the Columbia department was charged with excitement, and whole new perspectives for anthropology were opening up.

Rooted in psychology

Mead drew heavily on psychology, especially learning theory and psychoanalysis (type of treatment for emotional disorders in which a patient talks through childhood experiences and looks at the significance of dreams). In return, she contributed significantly to the development of psychoanalytic theory by emphasizing the importance of culture in personality development. She served on many national and international committees for mental health and was instrumental in introducing the study of culture into training programs for physicians and social workers.
